Heego Community Welfare Action (HCWA) is a dedicated organisation committed to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families within our community. With a decade of experience in Conniburrow communities, HCWA is committed to compassion, inclusivity, and empowerment.

Our community development approach is guided by fundamental principles. Communities lead their own development, shaping programs to meet specific needs, while we partner with stakeholders to maximise impact and leverage resources.

We work on projects that address economic, social, environmental, and cultural aspects for long-term resilience, honouring diverse traditions and incorporating them respectfully. We empower all community members to participate, regardless of background, aligning initiatives with community aspirations and priorities. Additionally, we build upon existing strengths and resources within the community, supporting and valuing volunteers driving positive change.

Through our array of community events and activities, including holiday programmes, homework clubs, art, sport, camping and hiking adventures, and youth achievement awards, HCWA aims to enrich the lives of both young people and families. These initiatives not only provide opportunities for fun and recreation but also promote personal development, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Furthermore, HCWA operates the Community Cafe, a weekly gathering where members of the community come together to share a meal, build connections, and support one another. This initiative not only addresses issues of food insecurity but also serves as a platform for encouraging friendships and creating a stronger sense of community.
